Free education?

#Feesmustfall

Interesting concept – this zero fees for Higher Education.  Can’t say that I am really surprised by it – after all, the ANC DID promise FREE education for all, didn’t they?  When they made these promises many experts and normal people predicted that it is going to come back and bite them in the ass.  And it is biting them now all right.  Problem is:  It is biting us all. Today my letter goes to the students and it is also still asking the question of the previous letter –  WHY DID YOU VOTE FOR THEM?

aneurin-bevan-quote

Dear Students / Future Professionals

When you started this campaign you had the sympathy and support from most South Africans.  The fees for Higher Education is ridiculously high and not affordable for all, except the super rich – even the well-off battle to give their children an education.  We supported the campaign, knowing that our tax money will be put to good use subsidizing Higher Education.

Now, at this moment in time, you lost our support.  We can no longer agree with what you are doing and you no longer have the sympathy or empathy of every clear thinking reasonable South African adult.  In other words, the taxpayers, the corporate community, the very people who can help you are now ready to ban you to the moon.

Let me enlighten you dear students.  You are supposedly the cream of the academic crops. You are the Professionals of the future, the Engineers, CA’s, Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers and such.  You are not acting like reasonable, thinking intelligent young adults.  You are not even acting like children.  You are acting like criminals and thugs, the scum of society. You are unreasonable, unrealistic and frankly disgusting.  If our future is in your hands I am afraid our future is dark and no future at all.  If you ever make it and become a doctor or lawyer or anything like that I pray to God that I will never need you…… you can not be trusted with even the most basic human needs.

Students have always been the ones standing up for change, even long before you were even a twinkle in your parents eyes.  Why is it that students are the ones instigating change, standing up?  It is very simple really – Universities, Colleges and other schools of Higher Education is where the pool of intelligence can be found.  Intelligence that not only see what needs to change, but also have the ability to see what needs to happen for that change to take place and do something positive and practical about it.  Intelligent people are not sheep, they do not follow the one that scream the loudest.  You are now acting like sheep, following the loud mouths leading you to the cliff and telling you to jump.

Let’s break this down a bit, be realistic and reasonable for just a minute or two.  Forget about the madness prevailing at the moment. Use your brains instead of your …. whatever you have been using recently.  Open your eyes and see the trees from the forest, see the evil and bad elements that’s guiding you in this.

When you started this it was about LOWER fees, not FREE education.  Now it is FREE education, colonialism and unreasonable DEMANDS.  I hate the word DEMAND.  That word implies so much more than you think and it immediately puts up walls you do not want to put up.  Contrary to popular believe Life owes you nothing.  NOBODY owes you or me or anybody else anything.  You and you alone, me and me alone, everybody on this planet is responsible for their own future.  You have no right to demand anything. On the other side, You and the rest of us have freedom, and with freedom comes responsibility.  Are you acting responsible?

magaret-thatcher

Imagine for a moment the Government is stupid enough (would not put it past them to be that stupid) to say:  OK,  free education for all.  Is that realistic?  Is it practically possible?  How?  Who is going to pay the bills?  Do you except the lecturers to work for free?  Do you except the lights to stay on magically? Do you think the workers cleaning the campus, tending to the gardens, working in the cafeteria and so on, is going to do so out of the goodness of their hearts?  Will the buildings maintain themselves?  No?  Who is going to fix it for free?

I can hear your answer:  “Government must pay.  They promised free education!” As one of you said on camera:  “We voted for them, now we demand they keep their promises”  That brings me back to the question: WHY did you vote for them?  You are supposed to be smart – is free education really possible in South Africa at this moment in time?  That should put up the red flag for you.  I think you know it is not possible, it is an election lie just to get you to vote for them.  It should tell you that voting for them is a bad idea.

There are only so much money to pay for so many needs.  There is only a small group of people able to pay taxes and our tax money is what is needed to keep this ship we call South Africa afloat.  Tax them more?  Why would they then continue to work hard to earn a living?  Remember, if by the Grace of God, you manage to put your shit aside long enough to earn your degrees and qualifications you are going to join our ranks.  You are going to become a taxpayer too.  Will you work your butt of just so Government can take a HUGE chunk of your salary?  Do you want to pay for students to STUDY and then watch them destroy their campus, acting like uncivilized disrespectful thugs?  I don’t.

winston-churchill

What will NOT be taken care off if Government pays for free education?

  • Housing for the poor – they can live in cold shacks and cardboard boxes for the rest of their lives right?  They do not need toilets and running water or even food, do they?
  • Health care – no more Aids care, no more free medical health for the sick, no more life saving expensive procedures.  No skin off your backs if people start dying because they can not afford to get help – you are getting your free education.
  • Infra structure.  Who needs decent roads to travel on – dodging potholes is an adventure!  Buildings collapsing on and around people is totally acceptable if it means you are getting a free education.
  • No more grants.  Aids orphans and disabled people can fend for themselves, they are not your problem.
  • No more help or rewards from Government for athletes that worked hard to represent our country, and you and me, at for instance the Olympics or Para Olympics.
  • No more money for research, tourism, development of any kind.

Those are just a few things our tax money takes care off.  Forget about YOUR Government’s salaries, their overseas trips, Nkandla – YOUR president and all his wives and children, their housing and luxury modes of transport, the big burly bodyguards, the drivers of the luxury cars. Do you believe, even for a second, that they are going to take smaller salaries, live in more modest homes, travel by Commercial airlines in economic class, drive their own more modest cars?  NO!  They are not, they are going to raise taxes until it is not worth it for the taxpayer to work anymore and they are going to cut expenses by not spending money on elevating the poor.  But all of that is acceptable because you are getting a free education!

ronald-reagen

Now you DEMAND (that hateful word again) that Corporate South Africa pays for your Education.  How do you see that happening if you burn down buildings, throw stones and shit (yes, real shit, the stuff that comes out your bodies) around?  It is a waste of money and no company will waste money.  You say they need to pay for their future employees – you got a snowballs hope in hell if you think they will employ somebody like you!  If they are forced to pay for your studies good, qualified, respectful and loyal employees are going to lose their jobs.  Your parents are going to lose their jobs.  Why?  Because they have to cut expenses to pay for you to go to university.  Why should they give up their current good employees to pay for you? They do not want or need employees like you because you do not concentrate on your studies, you do not act civilized, you show NO RESPECT for anybody and you will probably end up DEMANDING that you get your degree even if you fail. You intimidate the REAL students, the Academic Staff, the Private Security, the Police and every innocent person that happens to cross your paths.  You are going to show the same disgusting behavior as an employee.

A reporter tried to interview one of the academic staff.  A young lady came up and pointed her finger right in the face of the man they were trying to interview and started shouting and screaming.  She can thank her lucky stars it was not me – I would break her finger if she did that to me. Do you have any idea how disrespectful that is?  Do you know that people HATE it when you push your finger in their faces?  Do you realize that it shows NO RESPECT for the age or position or even for that man as a Human Being?  Did you know you CAN and SHOULD show respect to others – even if they are your “enemy”.  Sadly though, that man, the staff at the Universities, Corporate South Africa and the normal people in South Africa is not your enemy.  YOU are your own enemy.

That is the thing with unreasonable people and unreasonable demands – the more you give them, the more unreasonable they become and the more they DEMAND.  You want proof?  Look at the “campaign” you are running right now – where did you start, and where are you right now?  Take a good look at where all this aggression and violence come from.  Who is instigating it?  How sure are you this is coming from students?  Who is behind your so-called leaders?  You are being used and you are too stupid to see it and resist it – or are you so evil that you actually enjoy hurting people and their future?  You are hurting your own future!  Did your parents send you to University for this?  I think not.  Even if they did not –  We all want you to get a proper education but you are destroying it. If you are our future I am afraid, very afraid.  With you as our future Zimbabwe looks like paradise compared to what South Africa will look like.

Everything you destroyed and burned down needs to be replaced, right?  If it is not you will go on a rampage again and demand that you have decent facilities to study in.  How much is it going to cost to undo the damage you’ve done?  How many of you would’ve had their fees paid from beginning to end with that amount of money? Now, because of your behavior  it can not happen.  You shot yourself in the face to spite who?  If this academic year is declared a waste and nobody can finish their year, how much money is going down the drain?  What could’ve been possible with that amount of money?  Who in Gods name gave you the right to prevent other students (paying students) to go to class, to write their exams, to be a carefree, happy, responsible student?  Your Student years are supposed to be the best years of your life!  You are spoiling it not only for yourself but also for others.  GROW UP please.

Colonialism – what do you know about it?  You did not live through it, you did not fight against it and saying you are joining the struggle and the fight now is pure and simple BS.  The only fight and struggle remaining now is to BUILD, NOT TO DESTROY. That is your challenge, that is your privilege, your duty, your way to thank those that came before you and that gave up so much, even paid with their lives.  Thanking them by destroying what they worked and died for is insanity and disrespectful and ungrateful.

images-7

Stop this insanity NOW, before it is too late.  Many of you study Economics.  You should understand about money and budgets.  Have you made an effort to find the solution before you took this path of crime and violence?  Did you come up with a realistic plan, showing facts and figures and present that to the Universities and Corporations?  If you look at this whole situation with your God-given talent of intelligence, (the intelligence and brains you are supposed to possess) you will not only help yourselves, you will also realize that you’ve been lied to and that you need to use YOUR VOTE and intelligence in the next election to punish the lies.  Your vote is more powerful than the violence you are into now.  Decent, respectful protest will get you what you need – what you are doing now is loosing everything you need.  A silent protest is more effective than screaming, shouting, throwing and hitting.  Think about it – what was worse for you as a child, your parents freaking out on you or their silent disapproval and disappointment?  When you have a disagreement with you girlfriend or boyfriend, what is worst, a fight or the silent treatment?  Have you ever heard the expression:  “you trap more flies with honey than with vinegar”?  I hope you know what that means because if you don’t it is no wonder you act like you do, then you do not belong at university to begin with.

One of you said:  “Whites must pay!”  Are those the same whites Julius Malema wants to kill?  Are those the same whites that must leave this country?  The people who have no right to live and breathe the same air as you?, speak their own language – whether it is English or Afrikaans?  The same Whites excluded from the job market?  The whites living in poverty in squatter camps just like millions of black people?  Those whites?  I am an educated white woman.  I work hard just to keep a roof  over our heads and food on the table but I can not afford luxuries like a holiday and I can not afford to send my own child to University.  You want me to pay for your education?  The “whites” that would’ve paid followed the advice of those like Malema and other politicians that decided we are not real Africans.  They left this country like they were told to and they took their money with them.  You want to make them pay?  Good luck in doing that. Here in South Africa you see yourselves as the shark in a tank full of little fish – out there you are NOTHING and you will remain NOTHING as long as you act like this. Start acting and behaving like future leaders we can rely on and be proud of and you will get the support and help you need.

Remember this:  Whatever you set in motion NOW will follow you into the future. The moment you enter the workplace you are going to pay for the students that come after you and you are not going to like it.  Your free ride will be over and reality is going to hit you square in the face when everything around you is falling to pieces and government takes 40% or even more from your salary to give students like you a free education.  When that happens you will have only yourself to blame.

Time to pay the bills.  Some of you might do yourself a favor and start earning some extra money to help yourself.  You are welcome to join my team and do something useful for yourself, something you can be proud of.  Build your own business.

Why am I voting for them?

marthin-l-king-jr

I am a White South African.  This is my country.  I was born and raised here.  I worked, lived and loved here. I share it with millions of people of a different color than mine, different culture, different backgrounds. This is my world, my beautiful country BUT I am sad.

Day by day I watch things go wrong.  I see things happening that should not be happening.  I see my country destroyed, broken down to a fraction of what it was and a shadow of what it could and should be. I see the good being drowned out by the bad. I see evil prevail and I see a future none of us want or need.  I am not negative by a long shot but I am realistic.

My mind is racing a million miles an hour.  I have more questions than answers.  I know there has to be solutions,  Some solutions are so painfully obvious yet we just stumble on and on like we are blind, deaf and dumb.

I am but one person.  I also belong to a group that is viewed as evil reincarnated.  I am a white Afrikaans female.  I grew up during Apartheid and therefore I am a racist and a thief and every other currently popular buzzword they can come up with to keep the masses hating me and people like me.  I am the enemy. After reading my articles you might not view me that way anymore.

I want to talk to my “enemies”.  I realize that unfortunately this will never reach the people that need to read it.  I am most probably talking to people that can think for themselves, people who are not part of the masses and not going along with the politicians simply because they are black.  You reading this probably do not see me as your enemy. But maybe, just maybe I will reach a few people that need to know these things. I want to tell you things and ask questions.  I will not know the answers you have for my questions – but you will.  You do not have to share your honest opinions and thoughts with me or anybody else for that matter – but be real – be honest – with yourself.  You owe yourself that much,

Am I really your enemy?  Is that white family down the street really your enemy? Why do you allow the politicians to tell you what to think?  Why do you allow them to lie to you and why are you giving your power away?

images-27

Take a good look in the mirror – what do you see?  A child?  As a parent I want to protect my children, just like you.  Why do we want to protect our children?  Why not just send them out there and let them fend for themselves?  Because they are vulnerable, they need our protection.  When we were children our parents protected us.  They kept us safe, away from danger, they fed us and they clothed us.  (With the exception of those parents that never should’ve been parents because they sucked at it)  Now we are adults and we take care of ourselves.  Now, imagine for a moment your parents are trying to protect you today.  They want to tell you what to do, where to live, who your friends should be and dictate every part of your life.  Do you like that?  Will you accept it?  Will you allow it?  My mother passed on but my father is still alive and well.  I love him very much and I am thankful for all that he has done for me BUT I am no longer a child and not even he will treat me like it.  If I need advice I will ask for it but the decisions I make is mine to make.

Having said all of that and establishing that we are adults and want to be treated like that – why is it then that you allow the politicians (political parties) to treat you like children.  They are doing it you know!  Why am I saying that?  Because it is true.  They are using Apartheid like the Boogeyman or Tokolosh or whatever you fear.  During a speech Cyril Ramaphosa warned voters that Apartheid will come back.

http://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2013-11-11-the-boers-are-back-and-the-2014-shape-of-things-to-come/#.V9UFRfl97IV

Now compare that to what parents say to their children:  If you are naughty the Tokolosh will get you (or whatever threat parents use).  A lot of parents will never use that kind of threat because they feel it is psychologically damaging yet the ANC uses it on adults and people believe them!  Why?  How?  Do you honestly believe that is going to happen if you do not vote for the ANC?

During the recent elections Zuma (the ANC) said:  If you do not vote for the ANC you will anger your ancestors.

http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/Local-Elections-2011/Ancestors-will-turn-against-deserters-Zuma-20110512

Really?  In the first place – your ancestors do not care about politics. If they are going to get unhappy with you it would be for much deeper meaningful things like not being a good person, not because you did not vote for a corrupt incompetent bunch of self serving politicians.

Today I want you to think:  Why am I voting for the ANC or EFF or COPE – or whatever party you are voting for.  Is it because they are black?  Is it because they scared me with Apartheid coming back or is it that they told me the boogeyman will get me or because of the promises they made?  What are YOUR reasons?

Watch out for my next article.  I have a few more challenges for you.  If you are one of the many black people in this country already asking those questions, already thinking for yourself – do us all a favor and share this in any way you can with the millions out there that is still ruled by their own small mindedness and the manipulation of unscrupulous politicians.

We have to pay the bills.  Are you looking for a unique gift for that special person?  Check out thousands of bargains here and find that elusive special gift.

Deaths due to political violence during apartheid:
Max Coleman’s authoritative book analyses all deaths due to political
violence from 1948 to 1994 in South Africa and Namibia.
According to the HRC statistics, 21,000 people died in political
violence in South Africa during apartheid – of whom 14,000 people died
during the six-year transition process from 1990 to 1994. The book
lists the number of incidents, dates, and those involved.

This includes SA Defence Force actions, for instance the 600 deaths at
Kassinga in Angola during the war in 1978.

Of those deaths, the vast majority, 92%, have been primarily due to
Africans killing Africans — such as the inter-tribal battles for
territory: this book’s detailed analyses of the period June 1990 to
July 1993 indicates a total of 8580 (92%) of the 9,325 violent deaths
during the period June 1990 to July 1993 were caused by Africans
killing Africans, or as the news media often calls it, “Black on
Black” violence – hostel killings, Inkatha Freedom Party versus ANC
killlings, and taxi and turf war violence.

The activities of the Civil Cooperation Bureau as outlined by the
Truth and Reconciliation Commission, were also included in these
figures.

The security forces caused 518 deaths (5.6%) throughout this period.

And again, during the transitional period, the primary causes of
deaths were not security forces nor white right-wing violence against
blacks, but mainly due to “black-on-black necklace murders”, tribal
conflict between the ANC-IFP, bombs by the ANC and PAC’s military
wings in shopping centers, landmines on farm roads, etc.

Zuma fuels racial hatred against whites in South Africa

“President Zuma promotes racial divisions and fuels racial hatred with his comments that land is the cause of poverty, inequality and unemployment and that the land in South Africa was stolen. With these remarks Zuma targets whites in South Africa as if they are the cause of poverty, inequality and unemployment. It is also often…

Children in squatter camps

Let’s face it – Africa needs help.  There are so many organisations in South Africa and all over the world working to help Africans.  You see photo’s of poor starving people and people open their wallets and donate freely.  It is wonderful to know that people care.

The thing is – the world and all these organisations are not helping a specific group of Africans.  You can’t really blame them because the Government that is suppose to take care of all their citizens are denying them.  They are denying that South Africa is as much this group’s home as it is the home of the other South Africans.  They are denying their culture and breaking down and destroying everything dear to them.  They are denying that this group is in very real physical danger.  Police statistics are not showing how many of these people are killed in racially motivated crimes.  They are denying them their own language and they are slowly but surely working their language out of its rightful place.

The Democratic Constitution only applies to these people on paper.  In reality they have no rights.  The government is changing the constitution to suit their agenda.

The latest blow to this group is that they are now completely excluded from the job market – this means if they lose their current jobs they will join the thousands already unemployed and living in the worst possible conditions in squatter camps.  Companies may not employ white people anymore.

Companies may not help any organisation that is not helping black people only.  Any organisation working to help these white desolated people has to do it without any help from government and businesses in the Private sector.  These people are denied making a living by working.  Their only hope is the lucky ones that is still employed or they have to somehow find another way of making a living.  Not so easy if you live in a squatter camp and you and your children are going to bed hungry more often than not.

They need help – and quickly.  They need help to stand up and once more make a living so they can put a roof over their heads and food on the table.

If the rest of the world does not wake up and help these people we will see a great tragedy unfolding.  This is the forgotten people – forgotten by many of their own people that would rather help people because their skin is black, forgotten by the rest of the world – all Africans are not black.  Most of Africa is in trouble and they are getting help – but not if their skin happen to be white.  Where is the equality in that?  Whatever happened to fairness?  Why are people overlooking this group?  They are not invisible – they are here to stay and their numbers are climbing day by day – not because they are breeding like rabbits – but because they are oppressed and denied.  Reversed Apartheid is alive and well in South Africa.

Teletubbies in Parliament

South Africans never had much interest in watching the broadcasts of sittings in Parliament.  This changed in recent years.  2015 especially saw the number of viewers increase.

Why?  Not because we are suddenly more interested in politics.  The reason is that sittings in Parliament became the best comedy entertainment you can find.  One of the best “episodes” was the Teletubbies edition.  Yours truly was listening to it on the radio on my way home.  I laughed so much that I had to pull over to wipe the tears of laughter out of my eyes.

Watch the video – but be warned – you are watching at your own risk.  Side effects of watching this video might include tears and stomach-ache and a broad smile on your face.

I would like to apologise to the real Teletubbies – it is not a reflection on you.
